Aside

What I’m studying in school is Psychology. I am also premed and hopefully get into med school to pursue a career in Psychiatry. I wanted to go into this field because i enjoy helping people but more so I want to know about people. I want to try and figure out what makes people tick and why they do the things they do. I enjoy trying to figure out the enigma which is a humans mind.

In the future computers will help me analyze and arrange data for each of my future patients. It will also help me put common factors together to see a correlation between multiple patients. I will also be able to do research online to see if anyone else has found the same findings as I have as well as any working treatments for such issue.

Citizenship

Citizenship is defined as “the qualities that a person is expected to have as a responsible member of a community” from http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/citizenship. With this definition anyone that moves into a country and lives toward that countries cultural norms should be considered a citizen. I know that everyone has there own issues with people immigrating from a poorer country to the USA, but people tend to forget that most peoples ancestors immigrated here from another country. My parents in particular immigrated to the USA from Trinidad is hopes of a better life. I have personally gone back to my parents home country and I’m glad they got to come here because the living conditions over there were horrible. But, I digress, as for Citizenship at this point in our culture its all just a legal issue to not over crowd the country.

Civic duty is a very broad term that would be considered the responsibilities of a citizen. I don’t believe there is such thing as a civic duty because just because your a “citizen” doesn’t mean you do anything for the country to help out in your own way. Lots of citizens resent the country and have some thing negative to say about the country and its being run poorly…ect. In the past there definitely was a civic duty but at this point and time not anymore, people just don’t care anymore. So no, there is no such thing as a civic duty anymore and its ridiculous.

Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden is a former CIA and NSA employee, who not only discovered secret documents but also leaked his findings. He currently resides in Russia because he is a fugitive charged with espionage by America.

I believe that Edward Snowden is a genius, not only did he uncover top secret data hidden within our own US government but he leaked it for others to see that things we did were being monitored. So yes he is guilty of stealing government documents, however not guilty of espionage. Clearly the ones guilty of any sort of spying is our own government itself spying on its own citizens. How are we supposed to have the freedom to do something if its being monitored by someone else, and that person finds whatever you’re doing unethical and decides well, his freedom isn’t worth whatever hes talking about or posting on the internet bring him in. Its completely unjust and Snowden perhaps felt the same way which is the reason he leaked these documents so others could know that they are “free”, but not actually free.
